Who We Are

If you have any questions or would like more information about how your donations will be utilized in your community, don’t hesitate to get in touch with Karen Simpson-Neasby at karen.simpson-neasby@mercy.net or call 417.533.6192.

Mercy Health Foundation St. Francis is a charity providing support to Mercy St. Francis Hospital. The Foundation has the distinct honor of garnering community support for health improvement projects, scholarships, life-saving equipment and the expansion of services and programs at Mercy St. Francis Hospital. Thanks to the support of the Foundation, Mercy St. Francis Hospital provides exceptional health care to the residents of Baxter, Douglas, Howell, Ozark and Shannon counties.

Mercy Health Foundation St. Francis is a nonprofit organization. We are dependent on the donations and support of generous foundations, corporations and caring individuals like you. Your gifts to Mercy Health Foundation St. Francis help enhance patient programs, fund life-saving equipment and capital projects, and support charity care programs and services for those who need it most.

When you donate to Mercy Health Foundation, you support critical projects in our community. That’s right. Every dollar you give advances health care right here at home.

Our Focus

Patients in, and around, St. Francis should be able to access health care services conveniently and confidently. With your help, Mercy Health Foundation St. Francis benefits telemedicine programs that leverage technology to remove geographic barriers and allow rural patients to see primary and specialty care providers without leaving their community.

Innovative Care
Mercy St. Francis Hospital is seeking support for some much-needed enhancements to our Radiology Department, including two specific pieces of equipment: a digital portable x-ray cart and a digital C-arm.

Access and Assistance
Mercy Health Foundation St. Francis strives to help the poor by investing in programs that serve our most vulnerable patients. This is demonstrated in the Foundation’s commitment to making the most advanced treatment options available to urban and rural patients alike. Your gifts help treat the most challenging diseases while keeping patients close to home.

3D Mammography
A cancer diagnosis can be shocking, scary and devastating for anyone, but for patients living in rural areas, it can be even more worrisome when the answers they need are hours away. Since 2012, Mercy St. Francis Hospital has offered digital mammography to patients in Mountain View and surrounding; however, recent technological progress has led to 3D mammography, the most advanced technology currently available. 3D mammography allows for more accurate detection and earlier diagnosis of breast cancer, providing physicians with the best information to guide plans for treatment – even when no other signs or symptoms are showing. Your investment in 3D mammography will help patients in the Mountain view area receive quality care close to home, resulting in saved lives and improved quality of life for hundreds of families.

Our Funds

The Honor/Memorial fund was created for donors who would like to make a gift in memory or in honor of a loved one.

Your contribution to the Area of Greatest Need fund supports the unique health care needs of your community whenever they arise. This fund enables Mercy to respond swiftly to emerging needs.  Whether it’s funding vital medical equipment, supporting patient assistance programs, or advancing health care initiatives, your contribution makes a tangible difference where it’s needed most.

Your contribution ensures that routine, preventative health care is accessible to underinsured and uninsured patients in our community. Every patient deserves access to convenient, affordable health care and with your support, we can make a difference, right here at home.

The Cancer Care fund provides for the specific needs of patients who are battling cancer, right here, close to home. With your help, we can continue to invest in advanced technologies, treatments and programs to improve cancer care in our community. This fund also provides essential services, including nurse navigation and patient assistance, thanks to donor support.

Laurice's Story

Laurice Hachem Roberts, a dedicated member of Mercy Health Foundation’s Board of Directors, brings both passion and purpose to her work — especially when it comes to health care. Her commitment to neurosurgery is personal and profound, shaped by the loss of her beloved husband Sam to Lewy body dementia. Laurice and her daughter, Mechelle Meredith-Ehardt, are long-standing members of Women with a Mission.

Recently, Laurice’s mother, Nouha Ellis, experienced a concerning episode. Given her mother’s advanced age, Laurice wanted to avoid the stress of a long emergency room wait. She reached out to her Mercy primary care provider’s office for help.

The care team at Dr. Johnson’s office quickly gathered the necessary details and arranged for an appointment with a nurse practitioner at a nearby Mercy Clinic. Thanks to their responsiveness and compassion, Laurice’s mother was able to avoid the ER, and received prompt care when she needed it most.

“The entire staff was welcoming, attentive and truly thoughtful with my mom,” Laurice shared. “They immediately recognized her hearing challenges and made sure to speak directly to her, clearly and respectfully. It meant the world to us.”

Nouha recently celebrated her 100th birthday and Laurice is grateful to Mercy for providing access to high quality care so close to home. “I’m incredibly thankful for this clinic and the outstanding medical providers who serve our community with such dedication and heart.”
