Children’s Health Care
Mercy Health Foundation Perry understands that a family can be faced with many challenges when their child is battling an illness or coping with a disability. The Children’s Health Care Fund benefits local children with extensive healthcare needs.
Educational Advancement
The educational advancement fund has supported local high school seniors as they embark on a career in health care. The recently expanded program now includes support for Mercy co-workers and students enrolled in the local Mineral Area College Nursing Program.
Behavioral Health
Mercy Health Foundation Perry realizes that mental wellness is part of good health. The behavioral health fund provides awareness opportunities and various resources and programs to help adults and adolescents struggling with mental, behavioral, or substance abuse problems receive the care they need.
Geriatric Services
By spreading joy and light to our community, we can help fight the darkness of dementia and Alzheimer’s. The geriatric services fund supports our Cognitive Stimulation Therapy (CST) program, an evidence-based nonmedicinal treatment approach for persons with mild to moderate dementia.
Your contribution to the Area of Greatest Need Fund supports the unique health care needs of our community whenever they arise. This fund enables Mercy to respond swiftly to emerging needs. Whether it’s funding vital medical equipment, supporting patient assistance programs, or advancing health care initiatives, your contribution makes a tangible difference where it’s needed most.
The Children’s Health Care Fund helps provide treatments and services for children who are battling an illness or coping with a disability, specifically treatments and services that may not be covered by insurance. This fund also supports the Reach Out & Read program at Mercy Perry Primary Care locations. The program provides books at no cost to patients ages six months to five years old during their annual well-child visit, encouraging families to read together.
A gift to our Educational Advancement Fund will provide scholarships to local high school seniors pursuing a career in health care. The fund also provides financial aid for Mercy co-workers and other students enrolled in the local Mineral Area College Nursing Program.
Your contribution to this fund will support technology and equipment updates for the Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation department at Mercy Hospital Perry. Funds also aid in the purchase of AEDs for public spaces in our community.
Your contribution provides support to uninsured or underinsured patients in need of mental health care. Thanks to our donors, we are removing barriers to care for adolescents and adults with a financial need, including assistance with transportation, medications and educational materials.
Because of your generosity, our Foundation continues to make a lasting difference for Mercy’s patients, programs and services. In FY25, you helped us raise more than $730,000 — and together, we allocated over $240,000 to improve the health of our community. This impact was made possible not only through this year’s gifts, but also through the strength of prior-year reserves and investment income. Thanks to you, we were ready to meet urgent needs with care and compassion.
Every year, lives are changed because donors like you stepped forward to give. This snapshot illustrates some of Mercy’s most critical fundraising initiatives that will benefit not only our patients and their families, but also our caregivers and our community.
$10,000 funded vital equipment for patients utilizing Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation Therapy services in our community
Over $30,000 raised to support behavioral health services.
Over $25,000 raised to support educational advancement for those who have dedicated their lives to the field of health care.
Laurice Hachem Roberts, a dedicated member of Mercy Health Foundation’s Board of Directors, brings both passion and purpose to her work — especially when it comes to health care. Her commitment to neurosurgery is personal and profound, shaped by the loss of her beloved husband Sam to Lewy body dementia. Laurice and her daughter, Mechelle Meredith-Ehardt, are long-standing members of Women with a Mission.
Recently, Laurice’s mother, Nouha Ellis, experienced a concerning episode. Given her mother’s advanced age, Laurice wanted to avoid the stress of a long emergency room wait. She reached out to her Mercy primary care provider’s office for help.
The care team at Dr. Johnson’s office quickly gathered the necessary details and arranged for an appointment with a nurse practitioner at a nearby Mercy Clinic. Thanks to their responsiveness and compassion, Laurice’s mother was able to avoid the ER, and received prompt care when she needed it most.
“The entire staff was welcoming, attentive and truly thoughtful with my mom,” Laurice shared. “They immediately recognized her hearing challenges and made sure to speak directly to her, clearly and respectfully. It meant the world to us.”
Nouha recently celebrated her 100th birthday and Laurice is grateful to Mercy for providing access to high quality care so close to home. “I’m incredibly thankful for this clinic and the outstanding medical providers who serve our community with such dedication and heart.”
