Women with a Mission Makes Huge Impact in our Community

Mercy Health Foundation Springfield’s Women with a Mission (WWAM) members gathered on March 26th to hear and discuss vital needs within Mercy Hospital Springfield. Thanks to donations from WWAM members they were able to vote and allocate almost $45,000 to fund the following:

  • One Stryker Lucas Chest Compression System device for the Emergency Department to assist with CPR.
  • One LigaSure FT-10 device for Labor & Delivery that is used in surgery to shorten operative time, reduce bleeding, and improve patient safety.
  • One Vitals Cart for The Breast Center to increase quality of care by capturing more accurate blood pressure readings prior to procedures.
  • One iCare Tonomoter device for Ophthalmology, that helps physicians with early detection of glaucoma and eye pressure spikes after previous treatments.
  • One Landice Treadmill for Cardiopulmonology Rehab patients to aid in their recovery and rehabilitation after a medical procedure.

Since 2016, WWAM members have raised and allocated more than $350,000 for projects across 14 departments. This is an incredible group of women working to continue the legacy of Catherine McAuley, foundress of Mercy, by combining resources, vision, and passion to support and improve health care in our communities.
