Whitney’s Race Donates to Mercy Health Foundation

Family members of the late Whitney Marsh present their donation to Mercy Health Foundation Fort Smith staff.

Mercy Hospital Fort Smith again was a beneficiary of Whitney’s Race, held annually every October in honor of Whitney Marsh.

The Oct. 22, 2022, event was a huge success, and on Jan. 4, the Marsh family presented Mercy Health Foundation with $40,000 in proceeds. The funds will help Mercy expand its care of local cancer patients. The family also presented checks to the Ronald McDonald House and to MD Anderson Hospital.

The Whitney Marsh Foundation exists to celebrate the life and legacy of Whitney while raising awareness, enhancing education and advancing early detection efforts to fight pancreatic cancer. Often hard to detect and quick to progress, pancreatic cancer took Whitney Marsh’s life far too early at the age of 41.
