It is with a deep sadness that Mercy marks the passing of Judy Love, a member of our hospital’s board of directors and a dedicated philanthropist who joined with her family to advance the standard of care for patients in Oklahoma City.

“The impact of the life of Judy Love and the Tom and Judy Love family is immeasurable. Judy lived the example of complete dedication to family and commitment to community and left a legacy of servant leadership,” said Lori Cummins, vice president of Mercy Health Foundation Communities. “As a philanthropist, Judy gave tirelessly of her time, talent and treasure for the things she believed in, and we will be forever grateful. She was a true friend of Mercy, leading the charge for the innovative care of women and children. She will be greatly missed. We wish to convey our sincerest condolences to her family during their time of loss.” 

Judy and her late husband Tom guided the Love family’s transformational $10 million donation that made the Love Family Women’s Center possible on our main hospital campus in Oklahoma City. Along with Cathy Keating, Judy co-chaired a campaign that raised nearly $45 million to make the women’s center a reality. 

A few short months after cutting the ribbon there, our Mercy caregivers have already raised the bar for comprehensive women’s care. None of it would be possible without the leadership and compassion of Judy and the Love family. 

It’s leadership like Judy’s that Mercy relies on to create partnerships that take health care to the next level for local patients. Without dedicated supporters from the community, we wouldn’t be able to relentlessly pursue improved outcomes for everyone in our care. We’re doing it every day in the Love Family Women’s Center thanks to Judy and her family.  

Judy was preceded in death by Tom last year. Please join all of us in extending our prayers and condolences to the Loves as they celebrate the life and mourn the passing of another pillar of their family.
