Mercy Neurosurgeons Perform Surgeries Using New Robotic Technology

Mercy Hospital Northwest Arkansas recently introduced the region’s only Mazor X Spinal Surgical Robot to its operating rooms. This new technology elevates surgeons’ ability to perform minimally invasive surgery, particularly in complex spinal surgeries such as deformity. The recent innovation was made possible thanks to the generosity of local philanthropist Laurice Hachem. Her vision for the future of neurology in Northwest Arkansas is inspired by her late husband Sam Hachem’s battle with Lewy Body Dementia.

Take an inside look at Mazor X in action on local news stations KNWA, FOX24 and 5News at the links below, where neurosurgeon Dr. Alex Castellvi demonstrates how the robot is used and discusses the benefits of this technology to patients in the region.
