Mercy Hospitals in Logan County, Kingfisher and Tishomingo Earn Top Quality Award

Excellence has become routine at Mercy Hospital Logan County, Mercy Hospital Kingfisher and Mercy Hospital Tishomingo, which were each named to the list of Top 20 Critical Access Hospitals for Best Practice in Quality by the National Rural Health Association. This is the third straight year Logan County and Kingfisher appear on the list, and the fourth for Tishomingo. Additionally, Tishomingo has appeared on the list for six of the last seven years overall.

“The caregivers you see when you walk through the doors at one of our hospitals are why awards have become the norm around here,” said Bobby Stitt, administrator of Mercy Hospital Logan County and Mercy Hospital Kingfisher. “Everyone on our team works hard every shift to provide the best patient care possible. When everybody is committed to that, official recognition of our work just comes along with it.”

It’s not easy to wind up on the top 20 list. Hospitals are graded on datasets like care quality, patient outcomes, patient perspectives, cost and more.

“All of our neighbors in Tishomingo benefit from some of the most skilled and dedicated caregivers anywhere in America,” said Lori McMillin, hospital administrator. “An award like this is a testament to the hard work and compassionate care our team delivers every day. I’m so proud of the work they do and that it continues to be recognized nationally.”

Critical access hospitals are certified by Medicare and are part of a rural health care safety net. The hospitals provide around-the-clock emergency care to rural areas and receive cost-based Medicare reimbursement.
