Construction Update: Love Family Women’s Center

The team finished demolishing the old outpatient surgery waiting room and underground tunnel to the convent. If you’ve been near the hospital campus in the last few weeks, you’ve likely seen the sidewalks that were installed along Meridian Avenue and the beginning of a new driveway to access the women’s center and north side of the hospital.

In April, work will begin on the bridge for the new entrance off Meridian, parking lot, underground electrical and plumbing.

The noise and inconveniences on campus are not ideal, but we hope these updates serve as a reminder that work is progressing, and we’ll be able to serve many more patients when construction is complete in fall 2023. The Love Family Women’s Center will have a total of 73 patient rooms, increasing the capacity for deliveries by 40%. It will also feature an obstetrics emergency department, C-section suites, the state’s first hospital-based low intervention birthing unit, women’s surgical recovery, therapy services and more.
