Community Donations Aid Breast Cancer Services at Mercy Hospital Jefferson

Mercy Hospital Jefferson was blessed to receive two generous donations from the community recently that will go toward breast cancer services at Mercy Cancer Center Jefferson.

Bloomsdale Bank (Herculaneum and Crystal City branches) raised $2,539 as part of their annual fundraiser during Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October.

In addition, Zach Wilde, owner of Festus Wilde Lawn Service, presented Mercy Health Foundation Jefferson with a monetary donation of $1,500 for breast cancer services and 10 large chemo care bags filled with items that were hand made by his wife. Other items were donated by local businesses. The gifts were in honor of his mother, Tracy, who was diagnosed with breast cancer on October 4, 2019, and in appreciation of the wonderful care provided by Mercy Hospital Jefferson co-workers.

Zach said, “It was hard watching my mom go through chemo treatment, losing her hair and having to have a double mastectomy. I was so thankful that the nurses provided such good care to my mother. I just wanted to give back in some way, put a smile on someone’s face that is going through this difficult journey.”

Zach Wilde, owner of Festus Wilde Lawn Service, his mother Tracy, wife Alicya and friends presented Mercy Health Foundation Jefferson a gift to purchase 10 chemo bags for breast cancer patients.
