“Tutu Day” Fundraiser Nabs $700+ for Co-worker need.

To celebrate “twos day” on 2/22/22, co-workers at Mercy Hospital Oklahoma City donned tutus and donated to the emergency response fund through the Mercy Health Foundation to support co-workers in need.

Cindy Maggart, director of post-acute services, came up with the idea that raised more than $700 in a week. She wanted to find a way to mark the unique date with some sunshine, smiles and light-hearted fun.

“The fundraiser was just the icing on the cake,” said Cindy. “We only asked for $2 donations in exchange for wearing a tutu to work. I never imagined hundreds of dollars could be raised from such a small ask but that’s just evidence of the kind of generous people that work at Mercy.”

The emergency response fund has spent more than $50,000 on supporting Mercy Oklahoma City co-workers just this fiscal year. The fund provides financial support for HOPE baskets, free meals and coffee, and many other support services for co-workers.

It’s not too late to contribute. Click here to donate and select “OKC – emergency response fund” from the dropdown menu.
