I have received help from the Crisis Fund within Mercy, and I am truly so grateful. I was going through a really hard time with expenses due to me being out of work for medical reasons and Mercy generously assisted me with help. I felt that during that time that there was no other option for me, then learned about the Crisis Fund. I then applied for it, and I prayed and prayed until I heard back on my approval. I felt hopeless, and I wanted to give up. But a miracle happened, and I was approved! Thank you so much for assistance!!! I am forever thankful!

I give to Mercy Way to help my fellow co-workers and my community. I had a unexpected death in the family a few years back. Our hearts were broken and the financial impact of a funeral was overwhelming at the time. I received some financial assistance from the foundation to assist towards the cost of the cremation. This was a God send. I know how I felt at the time, so I feel blessed to be able to make a difference and help someone out in their time of need.

"Beginning in January I had preterm labor symptoms that were causing me to be in and out of work. I was sick and in a lot of discomfort and pain. I had my baby boy at the end of February and went on maternity leave.Things were going just fine until my husband’s work hours became unsteady. With me being on leave and my husband’s unsteady income, bills piled up and we could not get back on top of things. I confided in a friend/coworker who told me about the mercy crisis fund assistance. Because of the compassion of Mercy we still have a home, were able to catch up on our bills and raise not only our new born baby boy, but our 2 other children as well. We are beyond grateful and blessed that I am a part of such an amazing corporation.

I love giving to Mercy Way to help co-workers that are in need.  I have had to use it several times and it has helped my family out.  During the last snow storm we had a tree that was going to fall on our house and we didn’t have any money to get someone to come and cut it down. Normally my husband would be able to do stuff like that but the past several years he hasn’t been able to do anything. Without this fund I don’t know what we would have done.

Back in 2019, I was working as a RN in ICU. I had lasik surgery and went blind. I missed six months of work and used up all my PTO and ESB. Even my director donated PTO to me. Nearing the last month of my recovery after cornea transplants, I was needing help paying my rent. I was extremely ashamed and scared to ask anyone for help. Mercy was so helpful. They were able to pay my rent within a couple of hours of submitting my application. They were discrete and made me feel loved. Since then I donate a small amount per paycheck to the Employee Crisis Fund to help others who might also be too scared to ask for help.

We are currently a one income family and money doesn't go as far as it once did. A person always thinks it can't happen to them, but at some point we always need help.
